Global Coffee Shortage

Coffee Tree Seedling

News about the global coffee shortage and price squeeze has been circulating in the media over the past few months.

For over 12 months now, coffee prices have been slowly increasing due to the impacts of Covid19 on the shipping and logistics industry, and after four rounds of severe frost in Brazil mid this year, a global coffee shortage has ensured that coffee prices accelerated in their climb.

Projections are that coffee prices will remain high throughout the 2022 harvest, as the frost is compounding on the lasting impacts of drought in the same region.

As a result of this, we have just negotiated new supply contracts to ensure continuity of supply over the coming season, with our coffees now costing us 30-50% more than 12 months ago. We have reluctantly increased the price of all our coffees so we could maintain supply of the same high quality coffees without compromise.

Here is a graph of the previous 12 months world coffee market, trading to 2nd December 2021.

We appreciate your support, and look forward to continuing our coffee journey together.
